BEAI Annual Scientific Conference 2026 – One Day to Go!

Thursday 17 & Friday 18 September 2026 | Aviva Stadium, Dublin

We are one day out. Below are the start times for both days, along with a final call for nominations for the Clinical Engineering Technology Support Award.

Thursday 17 September — Medical Device Connectivity Symposium

14:00 — Doors open. Our local secondary schools programme begins, and the exhibition opens.

14:30–17:30 — Medical Device Connectivity Symposium, chaired by Fran Hegarty.

This is a working session rather than a lecture series. Short talks will set the scene, after which attendees break into groups to discuss, amend and prioritise the “actions and topics” that determine whether an MDI project succeeds. Live voting will score them in real time, with the results debated by a panel drawn from last year’s BEAI symposium and this year’s EBME Expo. The starting point is the output of the EBME roundtable held in June. The conclusions will be presented back to the full conference on Friday.

Friday 18 September — Main Conference Day

09:00 — Registration and refreshments.

09:50 — Opening address, followed by four sessions running through the day. Keynote speakers, the state of medical device integration nationally, standards and AI, dashboards, device tracking, two panel discussions and our “Thesis in 3” student presentations.

16:20 — Annual BEAI awards and closing remarks.

16:30 — Refreshments and networking.

The exhibition, poster viewing and networking run throughout the day.

The full programme is available here.

Final Call — Clinical Engineering Technology Support Award

Nominations close today, 16 September.

Behind every reliable piece of medical technology is a support partner who answers the call. The Clinical Engineering Technology Support Award recognises a medical technology company that has demonstrated outstanding support to clinical engineering services, celebrating technical expertise, responsiveness, innovation and commitment to patient safety.

Who can be nominated: medical technology companies providing direct technical support to healthcare or defence organisations, where that support was provided within the last 24 months.

Who can nominate: healthcare staff, clinical engineers and organisational leadership. If a company’s support has made a measurable difference to your service, whether through rapid response, technical partnership, training or going beyond the contract, we want to hear about it.

Nominations are made through the online form. The award will be presented during Friday’s awards session at 16:20.
