Field Service Engineer (Medical)

Forde May Consulting is in partnership with a well-established market leading medical focused firm who are seeking a Field Service Engineer to strengthen their client service and delivery capabilities. This is an All-Ireland role and will enable you to travel across Ireland where necessary to install, upgrade and maintain highly sophisticated medical equipment. This Field Service Engineer is a position that will give you long-term career progression and development. The exposure of the work you will be involved in will give you the genuine development to become an expert to give consultation to medical practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and servicing of a wide range of specialised medical equipment. The products you will focus on will be radiography based (x-ray, breast screening machines for example) and will require you to have confidence and experience across software / PLC based equipment so that you can update software and diagnose faults through software logs etc. The majority of our customer base are hospitals both private and public. Your work could also cover research laboratories and universities.

Training will be provided for all specialist equipment so that you have company brand specialist training.

Key Requirements

Ideally you will be a confident and inquisitive Electrical Engineer with experience in the medical device sector or a related industry. Your experience will have brought you to a PLC / software skills base where you can develop this further. You will have at least three years proven experience in a related field service environment and have the confidence to liaise with leading surgeons and medical professionals to ensure successful partnerships are maintained. You will take responsibility for all work in your region and manage priorities. You will strive to ensure that machinery downtime is non-existent and that your preventative maintenance plans are continually monitored and reviewed where necessary.
