At the BEAI AGM on the 16th of June, a new Critical Care Special Interest Group (SIG) was proposed and agreed. Clinical Engineers, Brian Clancy and Emma Christian will lead on this. Emma and Brian will highlight topical issues such as: Introduction of new clinical/technical approaches; Clinical alarm policies; and meeting patient-specific technical challenges. Meeting of the SIG will be held online.

Enterprise Ireland and Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI) have launched the Clinical Innovation Award 2023. This Award is designed to support all healthcare professionals in Ireland to explore the commercial feasibility of their innovative ideas with the potential to transform the way medical care is delivered in Ireland and abroad.
The Clinical Innovation Award is open to all healthcare professionals in public hospitals, third-level institutions, and non-profit research organisations. Lead applicants must be employed and have ongoing clinical commitments in the Irish Health Service.

Recognising the importance of supporting the professional development needs of HSCPs working in our health service, the National Health and Social Care Professions Office (NHSCPO) is delighted to be in a position to offer funding for 10 places on UCD’s Professional Certificate in Neurodiversity. Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals currently providing care to service users with neurodiversity. The course is delivered in a blended approach, with a series of two-hour evening sessions with two workshop days, completed over one semester starting in September 2023.
