BEAI ASC 2024 - Register now

The purpose of the BEAI Annual Scientific Conference is to bring together national and international colleagues working in the field of clinical engineering. As the professional body for engineers bridging the gap between medical technology and the end-user, the BEAI represents members who are primarily hospital based clinical engineers but also have representation from those working in companies that supply technology solutions to hospitals. At the 2024 Annual Scientific Conference, we want to celebrate and highlight the accomplishments of Clinical Engineers in the Irish Healthcare sector.

This year is the 27th BEAI Annual Scientific Meeting and the theme of the conference is The Challenging World of Driving Innovation, Delivering on Safety’. We hope to have presentations on Digital Clinical Safety for Clinical Engineers, AI in medical devices, Medical Device Governance, panel discussions on integrated care from community and acute settings, practical workshops and much more. We are in the process of finalising a very exciting programme.

Date : 20th September 2024

Venue: Croke Park, Dublin

Make sure to register and be a part of the conference.

EQUALS Initiative

The EQUALS Initiative seeks to improve healthcare in low income countries by working in partnership with less developed countries and addressing the huge inequality that exists in health globally. The initiative began in Zambia, and has since spread to activities in Uganda and more recently, Ukraine. Together, RCPI and the HSE established the EQUALS Initiative, to address some of the global inequalities in health through reciprocal, local partnerships.

Over the past ten years, the Initiative has evolved from a primarily equipment-centered model of support to a much more holistic approach, supporting both equipping and training need at a national level in Zambia.

EQUALS aims to provide expert support regarding the delivery of training modules for physicians and the development of postgraduate medical training programmes. They provide support to biomedical engineering training institutions through the provision of equipment and expertise. They also offer onsite support regarding the installation and maintenance of donated equipment.

If you are interested in volunteering your time or expertise to the establishment of postgraduate medical training in Zambia please contact EQUALS@RCPI.IE
