The future for healthcare in Northern Ireland: implementing the Delivering Together recommendations

This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss implementation of the Department of Health’s 10-year plan for the reform of health and social care in Northern Ireland - Health and Wellness 2026 - Delivering Together - examining priorities and next steps for the Transformational Implementation Group.

Delegates will discuss latest thinking on tackling key challenges facing the health service - including in emergency care and waiting lists - and assess the latest work of the Transformation Advisory Board on the first 12-month action plan.

Further sessions assess priorities in primary, community care and adult social care and for the integration of services, and the future of regulation and patient safety.

The agenda also examines the Department’s proposals for the reform of structures and services within the health service, as well as the Workforce Strategy and HSC-wide Leadership Strategy - and next steps in primary, community and social care services.

For this conference we expect speakers and other delegates to be an informed group including Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly, senior government officials involved in this area of public policy, together with representatives from across the health and social care sector, private and third-sector health and social care providers, advocacy and patient groups, charities, academics and commentators, and others with an interest in the important issues being discussed.
