The BEAI (Biomedical / Clinical Engineering Association of Ireland - www.beai.ie) is the professional body for engineers bridging the gap between medical technology and the end-user - the patient or the clinician delivering care. Our members include biomedical / clinical engineers working in public and private hospitals, engineers working in companies that supply technology solutions to hospitals, other health & social care professionals and members of academia.
Our 22nd Annual Scientific Conference takes place on Friday 29th September 2017 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry, Dublin 9, Ireland.
The theme of this year's conference is ‘Accelerating Healthcare – Pushing the Boundaries.’ Some of our speakers will explore and discuss upcoming technologies in medical devices, cybersecurity and the effects of the recent global cyberattacks on the healthcare system, disruptive technology and the potential role of consumer devices in modern healthcare delivery.
The event will be attended by some of the leading medical device experts around the country and abroad, organisations such as the HPRA and NSAI, and other Health & Social Care Professionals that have interactions with medical devices in both the community and acute setting. Please feel free to visit our website www.beai.ie or view the video at this link (http://www.beai.ie/content/annual-scientificconference-2015), to give you some insight of a previous year’s conference.
We are conscious that our acute hospital system is under pressure with our aging population and population growth. We believe that we need to seek out innovative ideas for delivering care differently if we are to provide high-quality and timely healthcare. The BEAI is one cog in this wheel and we hope that this conference will be at the centre of a change in thinking around healthcare delivery in Ireland.

We hope that you will be available to attend and present; your participation in this event is important to us.
