The BEAI Online Annual Scientific Conference is taking place on 27th of November.

Postponement of ASC 2020

Dear all,

The BEAI wish to advise that in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, and after careful consideration, we have decided to postpone this year’s 25th Annual Scientific Conference. We have made this decision in the interest of public health.

Telehealth Working Group

Dear Colleagues

It is proposed to establish a BEAI working group on Telehealth, and in particular, Remote Patient Monitoring.  This will be fundamental to hospital avoidance.

This is a rapidly developing area of special interest for Clinical Engineers.  Many of you will already be working on Telehealth solutions.

There are 3 broad areas of telehealth: Virtual clinics, Remote Monitoring and On-line therapies.

The HSE National Telehealth Steering Group is conducting a review of remote monitoring solutions that enable supported self-management approaches currently in use in Irish healthcare, both within the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic and relevant to standard healthcare delivery.
